What was Your Favorite Book from Childhood?
Recently, we ran a very fun one day contest/drawing and asked, “What was your favorite book from childhood?” We had a huge response. It was so fun to hear the various book titles from childhood and the stories about how the book impacted lives. It brought back lots of childhood memories and how books are such a big part of childhood.

Stories about Favorite Childhood Books from some of the Entrants:
“My favorite childhood book was Corduroy by Don Freeman about the little bear. I loved that book my Dad read it to me all of the time and now I read the same book to my son and when I say the same book I mean the exact same book from 1979.” ~Traci
“My favorite childhood book when i was younger was this huge book of mother goose nursery rhymes…every night before bed my momma would sit down and read them to me…i even had a mother goose light/cassette player and at night after she read me one story she would put the tape in, and it would recite nursery rhymes while i was falling asleep!”~Melisa
“My favorite book from childhood is “Angie and Me” by Rebecca Jones. The book is probably out of print now, as I read it back in the 80’s. The story revolves around two young girls who are paired together as roommates in a Children’s Hospital where they form a close friendship. Both are suffering from debilitating illnesses; one from cancer, the other from a growth problem with her legs. They become one another’s support system as they battle their individual diseases, making plans for spending time together when they are both recuperated and released from the hospital. Only Angie passes away before they can do all the things they hoped to do. I think I initially read the book because my best friend’s name was Angie, only I always remembered the story because of the way the girls became such close friends and the strength and courage they showed despite their illnesses. The book also taught me acceptance of others and how we never know when someone special will enter and then exit our lives.”~Ann Marie

I love the Giving Tree; every time I read it I still cry.
I also adore Good Night Moon. Both are great classics
